It has been proven to reduce stress, increase knowledge, improve vocabulary, support the creative process, build memory, and increase literacy. My favorite thing to do is curl up in bed and read a great book before I go to sleep, it's my way to escape the day and support my imagination. The best part about reading is that it is absolutely free! I could spend all day in the library finding new things I want to learn such as sewing, speaking french, current news in neurology, fashion trends, furniture design, spirituality, restoring cars...... I could go on forever.
