I honestly never thought I would utter those words! I have always been a Vitamix, Juicing, dehydrating, kinda gal but things are changing with my new found freedom from medical school.
I'm putting together a weekly list of everything I'm going to make for the week and surprisingly, I'm getting excited!
I'm thinking free-range organic garlic chicken, bean casseroles, and indian dishes with lots of turmeric.
Here are my favorite cookbooks
When was the last time you smelled the subtle floral scents within the air or really tasted your food? Do you miss having fresh breath and clothes that don’t smell of smoke? Are you tired of getting short of breath when you do just a little bit of cardio exercise? Have you tried to quit smoking, but found yourself back at it? These natural stop-smoking aids can help.
Sunshine, endless olive groves, healing salt water, and relaxation are the words that sum up this lifestyle. The way of life in this region encompasses a back-to-the-basics approach with ease and charm. When was the last time you picked oranges directly off the tree and juiced them for breakfast or harvested an olive tree? Many people in this region still walk to the grocery store, gather their own firewood, grow their own kale, and collect eggs from their own organic chickens. These people are the original pioneers who inspired the Farm To Table movement, without even realizing it.
Did you know that the chilly winter air can deplete your skin of moisture resulting in a dull, even dry appearance? Every year right around this time I always notice that my skin tends to get drier and taking more oils is a must!
2016 has been a crazy year of transition, relocation, rejuvenation, and rediscovery for me, which has been an amazing experience, but has left little room for a consistent routine. Running out of the moisturizer I have used for decades in a foreign country or trying to keep a eating plan when different fruits and veggies are in season are just some of the things I've adapted to this year.
What I have learned from this experience is that nature always has a solution! After spending thousands of dollars on creams, lotions, and expensive elixirs, I've found that applying oils directly to my skin in the morning will give me the best glow. If I'm in Greece I will use olive oil, if I'm traveling through tropical zones I'll slather on coconut oil.
What am I obsessing over now? Mandarine Oranges!!!
